Crossroads Community & Corsica River Mental Health Services recently hosted their Annual Client Holiday & Awards Celebration, an event dedicated to recognizing the dedication, resilience, and achievements of their clients and staff. This year’s celebration was a resounding success, with 232 awards presented to honor accomplishments across multiple areas, including personal resiliency, recovery milestones, and inspiring stories of transformation in the journey toward behavioral health recovery.

The event highlighted the remarkable progress of clients who have worked tirelessly to overcome challenges and achieve meaningful milestones in their recovery. From demonstrating strength in managing daily life to reaching significant personal goals, each awardee’s story reflected perseverance, courage, and hope. Guests and staff alike were inspired by the personal journeys shared, reminding everyone of the power of determination, support, and community in fostering recovery.

A centerpiece of the celebration was the presentation of the John F. Plaskon Special Recognition Award to Gloria Bowen at Main Street Housing. This prestigious award honors her pivotal role in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and recognizes the incredible work of a peer-operated organization that provides life-changing housing opportunities. Through her leadership and advocacy, individuals living with mental health disabilities are empowered to have a safe, supportive place to call home. The award itself commemorates John F. Plaskon, former Executive Director of Crossroads Community, in recognition of his many years of dedication to the organization and its mission.

The celebration also shone a spotlight on the exceptional contributions of the Crossroads Community staff. Kaitlyn Carwell, Laura Christ, Mackenzie Gardner, Stephanie Younce, and Tracey Patrick were recognized for their outstanding work, dedication, and commitment to supporting clients every day. Their efforts not only enhance the lives of individuals served but also strengthen the broader community by creating an environment of compassion, respect, and empowerment. Their recognition added a meaningful and heartfelt conclusion to the event.
